It seems now we are gradually getting back to normal from the Corona Virus and we can carry on with our normal activities. Let’s hope we never experience something like this again in the future.
There are so many German doll makers from the past that it is impossible to remember all of them. Only a few stand out in our memory. A doll marked with just the initial “S” is something I have never come across before. A pretty doll, very similar to Simon & Halbig, you would immediately think this to be the case, but is it? (page 19).
Automatons are for the special collector. At one time these pieces would fetch very high prices and usually end up going to the USA or France. Today, these dolls still carry a high estimate (if you can find them) and not all are in working order, but are still a fascination to some.
As usual there are lots of interesting articles for you to read in this issue and stories to widen your knowledge.
